Camping during the summer holidays brings a lot of joy to our family! We can all get together to share fun activities on the shores of picturesque Lake Nagambie in central Victoria and to celebrate the New Year. We’ve been doing this for years! Being away from the routine of home, freed from any dependency on the mobile phone and tv, time is no longer critical. And we kids and adults have wonderful memories of fishing, kayaking, swimming, or simply kicking back and talking.

Our campfire plays a key role in our holiday life as we gather around it to prepare a hearty meal or just enjoy being in the moment! It feels so good to relax and cook while watching cheeky ducks walk past or elegant swans swim by. And what is better than let the fire warm our legs as we admire gorgeous sunsets, check out bright stars and share meaningful conversations… Of course we comply with the fire restriction regulations that may apply some days.

We welcomed the New Year under the stars watching the flames from the fire dance around through the wood. Time stands still when you lose yourself gazing into the fire. Sharing dreams, New Year resolutions, and good laughs too; it was simply a magical time for our whole family, kids and grownups alike!
