Colin and Judy love travelling in the outback for extended periods. After acquiring MyFire, they promptly went on the road with MyFire campfire pit!
We thank them for sharing with us some of the photos.
Travel Fun
When they just need to sit by a cosy campfire, Colin & Judy like to set up the Myfire with a big fire using thick wood. They love the heat and the smoke-free flame they achieve easily.
To cook, Colin often likes to place a combo plate-grill, directly over their MyFire unit. They get great cooking results by using a small fire. And when they want to keep the hamburgers warm after the fire has died down, it is easy: They keep them on the plate part of the combo now over the embers.
This campfire pit burns so hotly, that small finger size sticks are all that is needed for cooking. They were easy to find on the the ground, as the photos show.
After the meal, they lift off the combo grill/plate; then they stoke up the fire for afternoon coffee or tea.
Colin uses the two stainless steel pot-supports to hook into the hand hold slots in each side panel. This enables him to carefully lift and move the unit about the site as needed.
Note that, for safety, this should only be done when the fire has died down.
Some Extra Tips
When camping in the same spot for a few days, there is no need to dismantle the unit. Just upend it using the hooked bars (or other long tent pegs); Then shake out the ash that has collected below the grate. Of course using the tray may not be essential in the outback when there is no grass to protect.
That tray is however still practical as when MyFire stands in it, you can tow and move MyFire around the ground easily. And when you want to protect grass or a decking area, fill the tray to the brim with water. Say No to burnt grass with MyFire’s tray!
Ready for travelling in the outback? Take MyFire, the safer portable campfire pit, with you for your next great outback adventures.
